Kelleher, Castillo named NJCAA First Team All Americans
Haverhill, MA (June 10, 2026) – Northern Essex Community College sophomores Jack Kelleher (Haverhill) and David Castillo (Boston) have been selected to the NJCAA Baseball All-America First Team as selected by the NJCAA Baseball Committee and announced by the NJCAA earlier today.
Kelleher, the Region 21 Pitcher of the Year who is committed to James Madison University and Castillo, the Region 21 Player of the Year, who is headed to Southern New Hampshire University led the Knights to a 33-10 overall record on the season including the teams fifth straight Region 21 and Northeast District championships, along with a fifth straight World Series appearance where the Knights finished in fourth place.
On the mound, Kelleher led the nation with 117 strikeouts in 14 appearances and 83 innings pitched. He picked up nine wins which was tied for second in the country and one save in his lone relief appearance in the Region 21 championship game. His finished the season including two appearances at the World Series with a 3.04 ERA and 12.69 strikeouts per nine innings.
Castillo, putting up an impressive stat line batting primarily in the number two hole in the Knights lineup as he finished the season with a .418 batting average, .513 on base percentage and .705 slugging percentage. He recorded 51 hits on the season including seven home runs to go along with 37 RBI's and 27 stolen bases.
Kelleher and Castillo becomes the college's 63rd and 64th all-time All-Americans.
