Haverhill, MA (March 24, 2021) – Levi Burrill (Amesbury) of the Northern Essex Community College baseball team has been named the NJCAA National Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 21st.
Burrill earned the recognition for his complete game effort on Sunday against previously ranked #5 Northampton Community College (PA). He went the distance on the mound in the Knights 3-2 victory while racking up 11 strikeouts without issuing a walk. The Spartans were able to scatter five hits over the course of the game, but only were able to get four base runners past first base in the game. He tossed a total of 99 pitches, 67 for strikes.
The last Knight to earn to the pitcher of the week recognition was Corey Imbriano on the opening weekend of the 2018 season. Imbriano went on to pitch for NCAA Division I University of Dayton after earning his degree from Northern Essex.
