Haverhill, MA (February 8, 2025) – The #4 nationally ranked NECC basketball team saw 16 different players score at least two points, including four in double figures on Friday night as they defeated visiting Holyoke by a 102-57 final score. The win improved the Knights record to 23-3 on the season, while they sit atop the Region 21 standings with a 16-2 region record.
After a slow opening four minutes things started to click for the Knights as they began to pull away as they opened up a 24-point halftime lead at 46-22, before leading by as many of 52 points in the second half.
Alejandro Delgado (Haverhill) picked up his 20th double-double of the season with a game high 22 points on nine of 14 shooting, while grabbing 11 rebounds.
He was joined in double figures by Alex Johnson (Worcester) and Cristian Moscat (Lawrence) who had 14 points apiece while Christian Sanders (Boston) added 11 and nearly missed a double-double of his own with nine rebounds.
Joan Vidal (Lawrence) and Yuno Matsuda (Tokyo, JP) dished out a combined 13 assists in the game.
The Knights will hit the road for their next two games with a trip to Quincy College on Wednesday evening at 7:00pm. NECC will return home for a pair of games in the final week of the regular season starting with Springfield Tech on February 17th.
