Haverhill, MA (November 6, 2025) – Christian Colem (Nashua, NH) of the Northern Essex Community College men's soccer team has been named the Region 21 MVP as he highlighted six all-region selections for the Knights and Eusebio Marote was named Region 21 Coach of the Year for a second straight season.
Colem was joined on the first team by teammates Maxim Chriss (Lexington) and Gabriel DosReis (Somerville). Earning second team recognition were Oriol Jean (Haiti) and Sotir Agalliu (Manchester, NH) while Lucas Cantelli (Lowell) earned honorable mention recognition.
The MVP nod for Colem marked the third straight season in which NECC has taken home the honor as Jadiel Bomfim was recognized each of the previous two seasons. He will lead the Knights into next week's national tournament with a team high 20 points on the season on six goals and eight assists. The eight assists for Colem were the high-water mark in the region this season.
Chriss who tied for the team lead in goals with seven on the season including five of which were game winners to go along with three assists for 17 points. The flashy DosReis rounded out the first team selections as he sits with 13 points on five goals and three assists heading into the national tournament.
The defensive duo of Jean and Agallui were the backbones of the Knights defense that held opponents to 1.42 goals a game on the season including five shutout victories. Agallui contributed three goals on the season while Jean had two goals to go along with an assist. Jean scored the game winning goal in the season opener at Westchester County while Agallui added a game winner on the road against rival Bunker Hill.
Cantelli rounds out the Knights honors as he recorded seven points on the season on three goals and assist from his midfield position.
The Knights will return to the pitch on Wednesday November 12th when they take on Bergen County in a national quarterfinal contest set for 6:30pm at Wehrum Stadium on the campus of Herkimer College in Herkimer, NY.
