Track and Field Hits Three National Qualifying Marks at Sean Collier Invite

Haverhill, MA (April 19, 2026) – The Northern Essex Community College track and field teams hit three NJCAA automatic qualifying marks at the Sean Collier Memorial Invitational Meet hosted by MIT on Saturday afternoon. The three qualifying marks increases the teams total to 10 for the season with one meet remaining before the national competition.

Competing in the 4x100 meter relay for the first time in the programs history, the foursome of Rachelle Torres (Lawrence), Mia Ruiz (Haverhill), Estephany Lizardo (Lawrence) and Janelis Uviedo (Lawrence) got the baton around the track in 57.76.

Uviedo would also hit a mark of 9.28 meters in the triple jump to qualify for the national meet for a second consecutive year in the event. She also improved her 400-meter hurdle time clocking a 1:19.78. Aivyn Privetta (Haverhill) hit the national qualifying in the 400 meter hurdles and now has hit the mark in both hurdle events with a time of 61.76, while improving upon his 110 hurdle mark with a time of 16.82.

Across the board the Knights saw several strong performances in multiple events, on the women's side as Ruiz improved her national mark in the 100 clocking 13.58, while Maci Abbatessa (Danvers) had a throw of 10.73 in the shot put.

The men's 4x100 meter relay of Milton Garcia (Methuen), Teriq Goodman (Worcester), Adreil Rosa Sanchez (Haverhill) and Privetta improved upon their time from a week ago clocking 45.10. Goodman also led the pack of sprinters clocking times of 11.7 and 23.66 in the 100- and 200-meter events.

NECC will conclude the regular season portion of their schedule when they head to Central Connecticut State on Friday for the Blue Devil Invite.
