Westfield, MA (October 12, 2019) - Northern Essex Cross Country runners were in for a fast race on Saturday October 12th at Westfield State University, many of the runners set personal records.
Freshman Kyle Manley (Gloucester) led the Northern Essex Knights coming in at 96th out of the 206 runner field with a time of 29:08 on the 8,000 meter course. His time is the fourth fastest in the programs history.
Freshman Abdillah Abdoulfatah (Lawrence) turned in a great performance running a personal best time of 32:05, followed closely by sophomore Emil Rosario (Methuen/Greater Lawrence) 32:36. Sophomore Will Thomson (Beverly) also turned in a personal best time of 33:17. Rounding out the top five was Andy Barrientos (Lawrence/Greater Lawrence) 36:58.
The Northern Essex Cross Country will conclude the regualr season portion of their schedule this coming Saturday at Franklin Park in Boston at the Suffolk University Invitational. Race time is set for 3:30pm.
