Volleyball takes five set marathon against Bristol

Haverhill, MA (October 16, 2025) – The Northern Essex women's volleyball team picked up an exciting win on Thursday evening at the Sport and Fitness Center as they defeated Bristol 3-2 in a five-set marathon to get back to .500 on the season at 7-7.

After dropping the opening set 25-23, the Knights won two straight 25-20 and 25-18, before dropping the fourth set 29-27 and pulling out the win with a 15-12 score in the deciding set.

A trio of Knights registered double digit kills in the match as Cherly BritoRosario (Lawrence) had a match high 15 kills followed by Crismary Deleon (Lawrence) with 14 and Faith Martin (Billerica) with 10.

BritoRosario teamed up with Rachelle Torres (Lawrence) as the duo teamed up to hand out 30 assists in the match with 16 and 14 apiece.

On the defensive side of the net, Torres also led the Knights with 22 digs in the match, while Deleon added 20 and Martin 17,

NECC served up 17 aces in the match led by BritoRosario with nine.

NECC will hit the road on Saturday when they travel to Berkshire for a 12:00pm first serve before returning home for three final home matches of the season beginning Monday against Roxbury.
