Haverhill, MA (November 30, 2025) – A Saturday night triple double from Alejandro Delgado (Haverhill) highlighted the #8 NECC men's basketball sweep of the 4th annual Turkey Classic as they defeated Hudson Valley on Friday afternoon by an 81-69 score and Suffolk County by a 110-55 score on Saturday night. The wins improved the Knights overall record to 10-2 on the season.
Friday
NECC 81 – Hudson Valley 69
Alex Johnson (Worcester) led four scorers in double digits for the Knights as he had a team high 17 points, while Delgado and Christian Sanders (Boston) both tallied double doubles of 14 and 11 points and 17 and 10 rebounds apiece. Joan Vidal (Lawrence) added 10 points off the bench.
NECC held an eight point advantage at the half 42-34, before outscoring the visitors 39-35 in the second half.
Cristian Moscat (Lawrence) had a team high five assists in the game.
The Knights outrebounded the Vikings by a 56-47 margin, while shooting 38 percent from the floor.
Saturday
NECC 110 – Suffolk County 55
The Knights jumped on the Sharks from the opening tip and never turned back as they scored a season best 110 points, while jumping out to a 33 point lead into the locker at halftime leading 61-28.
Delgado recorded his first career triple double of 14 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in 23 minutes of action against the Sharks.
15 different players recorded at least two points for NECC led by 19 points on nine of 11 shotting from Sanders. Joining Sanders and Delgado in double figures were Johnson with 16, while Moscat and Joendy Rosario (Lawrence) tallied 11 points each.
NECC shot 51 percent in the contest compared to 38 percent for Suffolk County, while outrebounding visitors 55-33.
The Knights are scheduled to return to the court on Tuesday when they host UConn-Avery Point at 6:00pm.
