Haverhill, MA (September 16, 2025) – The Northern Essex Community College men's soccer team grabbed their second consecutive win on Tuesday evening in convincing fashion as they routed Massasoit by an 8-1 final score in improving their record to 3-2 on the season.
Eight different goal scorers found the back of the net for the Knights in the contest as Thomas Kotas (Methuen) opened the flood gates just 57 seconds into the match as he beat the keep one on one for his third goal of the season.
Just two minutes later Kotas sent a pass into the box for Maxim Chriss (Lexington) who scorched the ball past the keeper and into the upper left corner. The goal from Chriss would serve to be the game winner as Massasoit converted a penalty kick in the 75th minutes with NECC holding a 6-0 at the time.
In the 7th minute Christina Colem (Nashua, NH) found a streaking a Ryan Duffy (Andover) down the right side of the box who beat the keeper to the top corner. Colem made it 4-0 just seven minutes later when he converted a penalty kick to conclude an opening 14 minute barrage to start the game.
Ilembo Kiza (Lowell) closed out the first half scoring with under five minutes in the opening half when he sent a cross from Kayky Freitas (Revere) into the left side of the goal.
Giovanni De Oliveira (Lowell) and Herbert Keibei (Haverhill) both recorded their first collegeiate goals in the second half as De Oliveira opened the second half scoring in the 52nd minute and Kebei tallied his goal in the 86th minute. Attauwalai Ayamga (Boxford) closed out the scoring in the 90th minute.
Dylan Gavin (Methuen) and Rolston Ladd (Candia, NH) split the goal keeping duties in the contest and neither was given much of a test as each were required to make just one save a piece.
The Knights will hit the road next Tuesday for a 4:00pm contest as they will take on Holyoke Community College
