Haverhill, MA (September 28, 2025) – In a rematch of last seasons region championship game, the Northern Essex Community College men's soccer team defeated visiting Quinsigamond Community College on Saturday afternoon by a 3-0 result and improved their record 4-2 overall and 2-0 in region play.
Throughout the games 90 minutes, the Knights controlled most of the play and took a lead five minutes before the halftime break when Ryan Duffy (Andover) knocked home a crossing pass from Christian Colem (Nashua, NH) just inside the six-yard box to the lower right corner of the goal.
Just three minutes into the second half Gabriel DosReis (Somerville) gave the Knights a two-goal lead when he blasted the ball into the goals upper left-hand corner from 20 yards away.
Lucas Cantelli (Lowell) closed out the games scoring in the 61st minute when he beat the goalie to his left side from just inside the box.
Dylan Gavin (Methuen) made four saves in the game to help lead NECC to their fourth straight win and second shut out victory of the season.
The Knights will remain home on Tuesday evening for their second of three straight home games when they play host to Bristol Community College at 7:00pm at Whittier Tech High School
