Haverhill, MA (September 30, 2025) – The Northern Essex Community College men's soccer team, receiving votes in this weeks NJCAA Poll, picked up their second straight shutout victory on Tuesday evening as they defeated Bristol, 3-0 and improved their conference record to 3-0 and 6-2 overall.
Dylan Gavin (Methuen) earned the win in net as he recorded five saves, his third shutout victory of the season.
Christian Colem (Nashua, NH) recorded what would result in being the game winning goal in the 4th minute of action as he took a corner kick that ricocheted off the cross bar and found its way into the net to give the Knights a 1-0 lead.
While the Knights controlled much of the first half action, Bristol held the NECC off the scoreboard until the second half when Sotir Agalliu (Manchester, NH) scored on a pass from Gabriel Dos Reis (Somerville) that was mishandled by the keeper and edged over the line for a 2-0 advantage in the 60th minute.
Ilembo Kiza (Lowell) closed out the scoring in the 82nd minute when he beat the keeper to his left with an assist credited to Attuwalai Ayamga (Boxford).
The Knights will close out their three game home swing on Saturday afternoon when they play host to Roxbury Community College at 2:00pm at Whittier Tech.
